Cynicism extreme?

Not sure if it is because of “waves hands around” All of This or it is because I’m getting old, or my attention span is fried or if my cynicism has reached a crescendo, but I have the hardest time engaging with media these days. Anything older than a few years makes me start thinking of the serene optimism of everyone involved (watchers, creators, commentators) who are completely oblivious to the utter fucking chaos that awaits them. I’m envious. I would love to live life not dreading what terrible shit may come up next. Not knowing that all of their efforts were for nothing and for the stupidest possible thing to come to pass.

American atrocities

  1. 18th century – atlantic slave trade
  2. 19th century – indigenous genocide
  3. 20th century – atomic bombings of Japan
  4. 21st century – GWs Iraq war

These are the biggies, but of course there are tons and tons of others. When was America ever great?

11/6/2024 – This place is all fucked up

I have the deepest, bone-chillingest depression setting in. Also an insane feeling of nihilism. Fuck this stupid fucking country and fuck all of the idiots. Fuck me for getting a sliver of hope that we could have a better world. It really does mean the future will be fully on fire and sooner than we think. I was hoping to at least skate by and not really feel any of this, but that is all out the window. It really is like the slide to fascism in the 20th century because this kind of shit is happening all over the world. Never been truer – the homey Karl Marx: “Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce”

The idiot fucking democrats just lost everything. I’m most likely going to disengage from all of this shit because nothing matters anymore. I don’t think Trump will, but everyone around him are going to burn this country to the ground not even sell it off for parts because what is there worth selling?

America is truly a cruel and nasty place. And not worth fighting for.

Americans are the world’s customers. We’re about to shoot ourselves in the foot and charge *ourselves* money to buy goods from other countries. We are too stupid to start making things for ourselves again (51% of the adult populace are functionally illiterate). We are about to crash the world’s economy. No idea what will happen next. Truly at the nexus of 2 new futures, but both represent an end to Democracy and Capitalism.

Collecting quotes from the CSPAM Trump thread:

“stop thinking about tomorrow, it was never promised to you anyhow”

“it’s like this fucking shitass country is built on an indian burial ground or something”

“I understand things look bad. I get it, things are not great. But consider this

Nothing good will ever happen again. Horrible things are going to happen, people are going to suffer. There is no room for hope. We can only despair. But listen: things will get worse. We’ll never have happiness again. We live in hell. Fingers crossed, but I expect that terrible things will happen and we’ll never feel positivity or happiness in our lifetime

That’s what I live for. We have to fight”

Religious realizations

listening to the latest Western Kabuki podcast, they were discussing how prosperity gospel works with faith and the key tenet of prosperity Gospel. Is that the more prosperous you are in? The real world is a signifier of the amount of Faith and Faith God has in you are equally correlated

This heavily explains why religious people tend to flock towards wealthy or high society people because they see their success as a sign of their level of Faith

The satanic panic from the 1980s to 1990s was actually probably just cover for all of the Catholic Church sex abuse. It’s so coded with religion. It’s probably pretty clear that the fucking priest we’re talking about how the acts they were committing were acts of Satan, which then had some of these kids were actually abused by the priests, but it got skewered into the whole daycare scandals
